June Jones, the coach for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, thinks Tim Tebow is a ’system quarterback’. He’s jealous that his QB Colt Brennan always gets labeled as a system quarterback and doesn’t get half the exposure that Tebow does.
“My quarterback has been labeled a ’system quarterback’ for three years,” Jones said. “He is the best passer in college history. He is. There is no question about it. Tim Tebow is in a system.”
Jones thinks Brennan is more NFL ready while Tebow, “a lot of his stuff comes off little dives, fades, things he is not going to do in the National Football League. That’s my point.”
I really don’t know what to think of June Jones. Is he really taking shots at Tebow and the Gators? Hawaii has a good team and they’re headed to a BCS game, why can’t he just be happy with that? Tebow, nor anyone at UF, ever said anything about Colt Brennan being a system quarterback.
I think if you polled all the coaches in NCAA Div-I football, that majority would take Tebow ahead of Brennan to run their offense.

I know Brennan won’t be there, but we play Hawaii the 1st game of the season next year…..we’ll see what he has to say about Tebow after that.
The guy’s a coach with an undefeated season. He has freedom of speech. He can say whatever he wants.
Besides, how do you explain Tebow’s excellent performance? He’s in the same offense that Alex Smith used. No difference. Colt Brennan will get the Heisman because he’s a senior on an undefeated team with sick stats.

Seriously? Have you ever watched college football? Brennan has NO CHANCE of winning the Heisman, there is debate on sports networks about whether he will even get an invite to NYC! Also, how do you explain the fact that Timmy Chang of Hawaii put up all kinds of sick numbers in college and couldn’t make an nfl squad. Can anyone say Hawaii runs a “system?”

uhhh chris leak was the biggest tool of a quarterback to ever come to florida, if any quarterback was the product of a system it was chris leak. tebow has skill, real skill; i question his accuracy/decision making at times but he’s a young quarterback that still has great numbers/record as a starter (not to mention a defense thats nothing to brag about).
Look at espn.com’s comment on Tim Tebow in the Heisman section. Obviously June Jones is not the only one who thinks Tebow is “somewhat of a system QB”. Tim Tebow is arrogant and immature . Grow up! Stop taking things so personal! Did you ever hear of the high road? Colt never said anything negative about you so stop thinking you’re better than him because you clearly aren’t. Especially since you had to be a little girl on tv when you were interviewed.
And by the way, Colt did get invited to the Heisman presentation so just accept that he’s good enough to be there.
Tim Tebow breaks an NCAA 20/20 record and people are amazed and want to hand him the Heisman because that was “never done before”. Colt Brennan has already broken 25 NCAA individual records. Isn’t breaking a record doing something that has never been done before? That’s how you set a record. June Jones is simply pointing out Tebow needs to do more than break one NCAA record to win the Heisman as a 9-3 QB.
How can u compare Brennan and Tebow. He has the 5th strongest schedule in the country and put up amazing numbers. Brennan’s schedule is amazingly soft. Yeah he has 38 tds, so what. They dont run the ball. EVen Florida runs the ball more than them and that says a lot.

Let’s not forget that NOBODY in the NFL or the upper-echelons of College Football uses the “June Jones” offense. And that Jones said this of Bret Favre:
“He’ll never make it in this (the NFL) league”.
And let’s not forget that Colt Brennan is a pot-smoking wigger with THREE arrests on his record. That we KNOW of.
Let consider the facts…Tebow playes in a tougher conference, has better numbers than anyone in the country, is the classiest player in the country, a proven champion both on and off the field…who is Mr. Jones looking at…Im sure he was in Florida trying to get his hands on Superman two years ago…but you know Florida boys are way to good for the west coast. Lets be straight, he is the best player in the nation playing at a level unmatched overall by anyone.. runningback or quaterback so stop hating the kid and give him the hardware.
