The Florida Gators, who were favored by 14 going into their Homecoming game, ending up smashing the Vandy Commodores 49-22. Tebow played a hell of a game and led the Gators with 5 total touchdowns. Even though Vandy didn’t prove to be much of a challenge, Tebow showed no mercy. He completed 22 of 27 passes for 281 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interceptions. He also added 35 rushes yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.
If this doesn’t propel Tebow back into the Heisman talk, the I don’t know what will. His only competition is senior QB from Oregon, Dennis Dixon. Tebow dominates Dixon in all statistical categories, it’s just that Dixon is on a 1 loss team and is a senior.
On Saturday, Tebow showed no signs of being injured. The only time Cam Newton came in to spell Tebow was at the end when the Gators had it wrapped up. Tebow did throw an interception, though it wasn’t entirely his fault and had no negative outcome on the game.
